Cuba St is more than just a coffee spot — it’s a local landmark. With high foot traffic and early-morning demand, downtime wasn’t an option. Atlas Power Solutions was engaged to ensure robust power distribution, kitchen circuit protection, and general safety upgrades — all timed around non-peak hours to avoid service disruption.
The Challenge
After new owners - Bob & Kim, purchased Cuba St Coffee Roasters, they discovered that several electrical elements had likely been installed or modified without proper licensing. This created hidden risks to staff, customers, and equipment — especially in a busy commercial kitchen and café environment.
Business Impact: The uncertainty around electrical safety made it hard for the owners to feel confident in daily operations. Concerns about non-compliance, poor workmanship, and performance gaps led to interruptions and the need for reactive fixes — especially early on.

We began by identifying and rectifying the most immediate hazards: faulty wiring, overloaded circuits, and non-compliant fittings. From there, we’ve built an ongoing partnership — providing reliable, staged improvements without interrupting trade. Projects included: Upgrading outdoor security lighting for night safety Installing a multi-camera CCTV system for site security Replacing internal light fittings to improve visibility and café ambience Adding exterior feature lighting to enhance street presence We’ve delivered all upgrades cleanly, often after hours, and always with sensitivity to their brand aesthetic and customer flow.
