EV Charger Installation — frequently asked questions

Common questions about this service. Can’t find yours? Contact us for a free quote.

Do you offer load balancing for EV chargers?

We can arrange and install EV chargers with load balancing to make sure your charger works within the limits of your electrical supply. This is done in connection with Energex to ensure the setup is safe, compliant, and won’t overload your system.

Load balancing is especially useful if you have other high-demand appliances running at the same time, or if you’re installing multiple chargers on the same site. We’ll handle the installation and coordinate with Energex so the process is seamless.

What EV brands do you support?

We’re not locked into a single brand — we can supply and install chargers for all major EV manufacturers, including Tesla, BYD, Hyundai, Kia, MG, Nissan, and more.

If you already have a charger that came with your vehicle, we can install it and make sure it’s set up safely and to spec. If you’re still deciding, we can recommend a charger that suits your vehicle, property, and usage needs.

Do I need a dedicated circuit for an EV charger?

An EV charger draws a significant amount of power, so it needs to be connected to its own dedicated circuit. This ensures the charger can run at full capacity without overloading other parts of your electrical system, and it keeps everything compliant with Australian standards.

When we install an EV charger, we’ll assess your switchboard and supply to confirm the capacity, install the dedicated circuit, and test the setup so you can charge safely and efficiently.

What types of electrical services do you provide?

Our services cover everything from day-to-day electrical work to larger projects and specialised installations. This includes:

  • Residential electrical — power points, lighting, ceiling fans, switchboard upgrades, appliance installs, EV chargers, smoke alarms
  • Commercial electrical — fit-outs, maintenance contracts, compliance testing, data and communications, fault finding
  • Air conditioning — split system supply, installation, and servicing
  • Home automation — smart lighting, climate control, and security integration
  • Safety and compliance — test and tag, RCD testing, emergency lighting checks, smoke alarm compliance
  • Energy efficiency upgrades — LED lighting conversions, energy monitoring, and load management

If you’re not sure whether we handle a specific job, just ask — if it’s within our licence, we’ll take care of it, and if not, we can usually connect you with a trusted partner.
